 Message From The Principal

This was another fantastic week at MCS!  Next week we are looking forward to Fall Clean Up day on Friday.  Fall Clean Up Day is organized by Lindsay Putnam, our LEEEP Coordinator.  This day is a way for us to give back to our school and community and help make our community a better place to be!  Here are a few of the tasks that will be completed next Friday…

  • Litter clean up on the playground and Main Street
  • Weeding the flower and vegetables beds around the garden
  • Raking leaves around the school and on the green
  • Testing of soils
  • Pulling invasives
  • Putting the vegetable garden to rest
  • Litter collection in various areas of Norwich
  • Moving woodships, compost, and mulch
  • ...and much more!

Please give a friendly wave or cheerful hello to MCS students and staff when you see them out and about next Friday during Fall Clean Up Day!

On another clean up note, we have had an influx of dog feces on the Norwich Green and around the school.  Can you please help me to spread the news that we like dogs, but are not so fond of their deposits!  There is nothing worse than having a little friend step in a dog deposit pile and then walk all through the school building.

On a final, and less stinky note, I wanted to share the happy news that we are moving forward in putting a set of swings back on the front playground.  The playground committee and our 6th graders have selected a swing set that is perfect for our school - regular swings, a tire swing, and a handicap accessible and fully inclusive swing.  We are accepting donations to help pay for this amazing addition to the playground.  If you would like to donate towards this, please contact me.

Have a lovely weekend,
