Message From the Principal

Winter has found its way to MCS.  The signs are clear - ice on the common, skating rink, and kids with winter clothing!  I clearly remember my elementary school years and the care that was taken to make sure that I had everything needed to be warm and cozy during recess.  There is nothing worse than being uncomfortable outside in the cold. When we return from vacation the Cross Words will have a focus on what winter gear is required for each grade level.  This information will help families to be aware of the expectations at MCS. One thing that happens often is a child, or many children, forget their winter gear. Often we have enough spare pieces of clothing to go around, but sometimes we fall short.  If you happen to have hats, gloves, and snow pants that no longer fit please consider donating them to our extra clothing collection.

Next week MCS will host the community for two holiday concerts.  I hope that you will be able to join us. On Tuesday, December 17th grades 4-6 will wow you with their musical talents at 6:30.  The next day, Wednesday, December 18th K-3 students will perform and work their holiday magic!

There have been requests for grandparents, friends, and other community members to receive an electronic copy of the Cross Words.  If you know of a person who would enjoy the MCS weekly newsletter please send me an email with their contact information.

Enjoy the weekend,

Shawn
