School Culture Team consists of two 2nd graders, two 3rd graders, two 4th graders, two 5th graders, and two 6th graders. The Team's charge is to develop and fulfill an idea that in some way will improve the school. Along with the principal and a teacher, the School Culture Team students brainstorm ideas, whittle the ideas down to one, and plan the project they wish to share with the school.
Past projects including selecting the owl as our school mascot, having a therapy dog visit the school, hosting a Bring-a-Stuffie-to-School Day, and organizing a Picnic Day.
Teams meet once a month for three months, and then a new team is randomly selected using a graphing calculator. In that way, all students are able to learn about and exercise leadership.
